The developer of iFaith, iH8sn0w, has already declared his intention to develop the Mac Version of iFaith. Today iH8sn0w uploads the first screenshot of iFaith Mac version on his twitter account. The screenshots shows that the software is almost ready and that it can be released any time soon.
IFaith, like the more famous TinyUmbrella utility, is a tool that allows you to save your SHSH blobs for later use. But that’s pretty much where the similarities end. While TinyUmbrella fetches the SHSH blobs from Apple’s server, iFaith will extract them directly from your device. Apr 11, 2013 iFaith can pull the blobs off the device for that specific firmware you're using. Then you can use them to reinstal that same firmware. If your blobs on Cydia are invalid and you want to use iFaith to install a firmware you are not currently using, then there's nothing you can do about that. IFaith signatures are useful since they are based on whatever version the Apple TV is CURRENTLY running, allowing you to re-install or jailbreak that version even if it is no longer being signed. Saving iFaith firmware signatures (Mac) Connect Apple TV via USB; Launch Seas0nPass; Click the 'Help' menu and select the 'Dump iFaith Device blob. SHSH blobs using iFaith.Save SHSH blobs with iFaith. Note: iFaith is only for Windows.and it works with the Apple TV 2, Apple iPad 1, Apple iPhone 3GS, Apple iPhone 4, Apple iPod Touch 2G, Apple iPod Touch 3, and Apple iPod Touch 4G (iOS 3.1 – iOS 6.1.3) Save to the SHSH blobs fellow the steps. 01 Download iFaith and unzip.

Those users who use Windows based PC for their jailbreaking stuff might be well aware of this software which will be available for Mac users too.
Shortly iFaith performs three important functions.
- It dumps SHSH blobs
- It can store the blobs locally and remotely
- It can build the signed iOS firmares.
The first and most important feature of iFaith is to grab the SHSH blobs of current iOS version and then to store it on your local Hard Disk. We can also configure it to store the grabbed blobs on remote server.
Secondly it creates the signed iOS firmwares and allows you to restore your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch to this signed firmware without needing TinyUmbrella or Cydia Server.
iFaith Windows version supports the following devices, and iFaith Mac version will also be compatible with all these iOS devices.
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 4
- iPad 1
- iPod Touch 2G
- iPod Touch 3G
- iPod Touch 4G
- and Apple TV 2
iPad 2 support is currently not available in iFaith’s latest version, but we hope it will be included in both Mac and Windows Versions soon.
The download link and a complete How-To guide will be posted after the release of iFaith for Mac. Stay tuned to this site for more updates.

iFaith is an open source SHSH dumper for the Windows family of operating systems written by iH8sn0w. It works on all devices that are susceptible to the limera1n exploit (all devices before the iPad 2). This is useful if you receive a device with old firmware on it that you want to be able to restore. Even if Apple doesn't sign that firmware anymore, you can backup the SHSH data directly from the device, so that you can install the firmware later again to avoid upgrading the firmware.

What is interesting is how iFaith uses xpwn (xpwntool and hfsplus) while being able to be closed source. The reason is that the GNU GPL v3 requires derivatives of GPL software and programs utilizing GPL libraries (static or dynamic) to be under the GNU GPL v3 or (at their discretion) a later version. iFaith works around this the same way OS X does - by using a compiled executable, not a library.
